A textbook and educational publisher uses the P18 roll-to-sheet digital inkjet press to produce short and medium runs without storing large offset inventories.
The compact P18 combines a monolithic frame, precision web transport and inline cutting. Depending on the model, it prints at up to 75 m/min in CMYK (P18C) or up to 90 m/min in single black (P18K), with an imaging width of 436 mm and an optional 469 mm.
The press accepts offset, writing, digital and newsprint papers from 45 to 160 gsm. Inline cutting covers lengths from 140 to 660 mm, separates batches from 10 sheets and stacks output up to 240 mm high. This lets the printer go from roll to finished sheets without a separate finishing step for every title.
For black-only textbooks, the P18K uses butterfly printing technology to extend printhead service life. Both models support the EPrintSystem control workflow, with optional cluster printing for multi-press production.
