Turkey: Book Production on the PM440 Inkjet Press

A book production plant in Turkey uses the PM440 roll-to-sheet inkjet press for short and medium print runs that would otherwise require frequent offset make-readies.
The PM440 is a fifth-generation platform with 52 industrial printheads and a top speed of 150 m/min. It prints duplex on offset, writing, digital and newsprint papers from 45 to 160 gsm, with front-to-back registration of ±0.2 mm.
CCD inline inspection checks registration and print quality during production. The cutting section handles formats from 140 to 660 mm, separates batches from 10 sheets and stacks output up to 240 mm high, so printed sheets arrive ready for binding.
ERP cluster control lets the plant queue several titles and switch orders without stopping the press. High-concentration ink and automated printhead maintenance help control ink consumption and operator workload across long shifts.
