How Are Printheads Maintained and Replaced?

Printheads are one of the most important wear items on an inkjet press. Maintenance combines operator checks, automatic routines and planned replacement.
Daily tasks usually include a nozzle check and a visual inspection of the printed test pattern. The press also runs automatic cleaning, capping and ink circulation routines to keep nozzles healthy between jobs.
When a nozzle remains missing after cleaning, the operator can follow the troubleshooting procedure in the manual. If replacement is required, the printhead module is removed and replaced according to the service instructions, and the press is recalibrated.
Replacement intervals depend on ink volume, media, print coverage and operating conditions. Our service team can review printhead history and recommend a spare-parts plan based on actual production.
